Fox Searchlight Pictures : Garden State
Fox Searchlight Pictures : Garden State
I have decided that to make my blog more useful to people I should review things I like, hate, and have no feeling about whatsoever. So I will begin today, right now, here, with Garden State. I saw this movie in the theatres a few months ago and thought nothing has been better this year. I held this movie in my realm of best movies I've seen with American Beauty. The beauty of Zach Braff's creation brought tears to the eyes of several friends who saw this movie about the same time I did. I loved the dialogue and acting. Natalie Portman is continuously amazing me moving from a little girl in The Apprentice to sublime Queen Amidala to the wonderfully complex love interest to Braff to the seductress in Closer, which I recently saw as well.
My only problem with Garden State is that it didn't come out on DVD until December 28th. I bet you could've sold more copies, Zach, if you could've convinced Fox Search Lights to release it just a few days earlier. I'm sure they had a good reason, I suppose. Now I need to go buy it myself, and you're probably asking, "Julian, you idiot. It's January 8th and you don't own it yet?" Well, I am going tomorrow. Trust me.
Lastly, I'd like to be as talented at Web Design as the webmaster for the Garden State website. I absolutely adore that design.
Cheers.
